1, 2006 – As of today the European Union's RoHS directive takes
effect, it is also often referred to as the "lead-free"
directive, pointing at one of its main restrictions: the use of lead in the
entire production process as well as in the product itself. In addition to
lead prohibitions, five other substances mercury, cadmium, Chromium IV, PBB
and PBDE are also highly restricted in use:abit has always been at the forefront of innovation, pushing to improve products and the overall experience for users. With this in mind, protecting the common environment is of the utmost importance for abit. RoHS compliant For the sake of our environment and to keep the world we are living in cleaner, all new abit products are fully RoHS compliant. Even though these regulations only apply to the European Union, we anticipate similar legislation to be implemented worldwide fairly soon. As things stand, abit is ready. Recycling and the WEEE directive The European Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE) is promoting the recycling of e-waste. abit is fully supporting these important efforts and is commited to reach a recycling rate of at least 75% in the near future.
