Micron PC BIOS Flash Procedure
IMPORTANT: The BIOS chip on your motherboard can only be updated through a
flash procedure which re-writes/flashes the BIOS with updated information.
It is critical to read and understand these directions before attempting to
update your BIOS. Failure to follow to these instructions may render your
system inoperable and/or damage your system. It is recommended that you do
not flash your BIOS unless the update specifically addresses your issue.
1. Insert a formatted floppy diskette with system files into drive A:
(Floppy Drive).
2. Extract files from BIOS download zip file to this floppy diskette.
3. Leave the newly created floppy diskette in drive A: and reboot your
system.
4. Your system will now boot the floppy diskette created in the steps above.
5. The micronpc.com screen will appear and the system will boot to the A:
command prompt.
6. Type Flash104.bat after the command prompt.
7. The Award Flash Utility screen will appear and begin the flash process.
8. When flashing is complete, reboot your system.
9. Press <Delete> to enter the CMOS setup utility.
10. Use the arrow keys to go to the "Defaults" menu and press <Enter>.
11. The "Load Setup Defaults" option will be highlighted, press <Enter>.
12. A window will appear asking to "Load Optimized Defaults".
13. Press <Y>, then <Enter> to select "Yes" and load the newly flashed
default settings.
14. Use the arrow keys to go to "Exit" menu.
15. The "Save and Exit Setup" option will be highlighted, press <Enter>.
16. A window will appear asking to "Save to CMOS and Exit".
17. Press <Enter> to select the default, "Yes"
18. This loads the new BIOS information onto the ROM and completes the BIOS
update.
19. Your system will now complete the reboot process.
