The
European Union's directives 2002/96/EC, 2005/717/EC, and 2005/747/EC for the
"Restriction of Hazardous Substances" (RoHS) were published on February
13th, 2003.
These directives control the usage of specified hazardous substances in
electronic and electrical equipment sold in Europe from July 1st, 2006. The
materials specified are lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, and
certain flame retardants use in plastics: polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) and
polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE). The threshold limit of the six above
substances is also compliant to EU directive 2005/618/EC.
Tyan Computer Corporation, a market-leading designer and manufacturer of
advanced x86 and x86-64 platform and system technology for OEMs, VARs and
system builders worldwide, is committed to both compliance with the RoHS
directives listed above, and to supporting customers in their compliance
efforts.
Both of these objectives coincide with Tyan's commitment to supporting our
future ecosystem.
To further substantiate this effort, Tyan is releasing a general state of
RoHS compliance to the public. Click the link below to view or download the
